MEZZOGIORNO WINES aims to search the seemingly endless array of Italian and Portuguese wines--these countries each boast hundreds of different grape varieties--and bring to the Minnesota market the best (i.e. my favorite) examples of both their most iconic wine styles, as well as some little-known regional gems.  At the same time, I will emphasize small producers employing sustainable (usually organic) winemaking methods with limited intervention in the cellar; owner-operated wineries from which each bottle represents a dream realized and a tradition kept alive.  

 

In addition to focusing on wineries that are doing things the right way, I would like for Mezzogiorno Wines to make its own impact!  To that end, I pledge to donate 10% of the company's annual profits (aka my salary) to non-profit organizations in Minnesota, Italy, Portugal, and other places in need.
